Doris is a cocktail bar and social venue in Seattle’s Pioneer Square, named in honor of the owner's grandmother and inspired by the timeless art of gathering.

Designed by Seola Works for Rally Group, in close collaboration with their team, the project reimagines classic hospitality through the lens of contemporary social life. More than a cocktail bar, Doris is conceived as a social room—a place where friends, neighbors, and strangers can gather, connect, and linger.

The design prioritizes intimacy and interaction. Organized around a series of carefully composed seating arrangements, the space encourages conversation, spontaneous encounters, and the informal rituals of hosting. Every element—from circulation and sightlines to lighting and materiality—was considered to support a sense of ease, warmth, and occasion.

Conceived as a jewel box within the historic fabric of Pioneer Square, the room is intimate in scale yet rich in atmosphere. Layered lighting, tactile materials, and finely crafted details create an environment that feels both elevated and approachable, balancing glamour with comfort.

The hospitality experience extends beyond the architecture. A focused menu of classic cocktails, curated wines, and familiar dishes prepared with care reflects the same philosophy that shaped the space itself: thoughtful, timeless, and centered on bringing people together.
